Here is some great news from our friends at the Middlesex County EARTH Center:
If you love to grow your own food, consider a visit to the Master Gardeners Plant Sale on Cook Campus, Saturday, May 13th from 9 am – 1 pm at 103 College Farm Rd. New Brunswick NJ (former location of NJ Museum of Agriculture).
There will be a varied selection of plants for home gardens available, including herbs and heirloom vegetables, ethnic eggplants, and hot and sweet peppers. There will also be unusual varieties of annuals, perennials, and vines.
This is a great opportunity for gardeners to acquire Rutgers developed varieties, including the recently introduced Rutgers “D’Light” strawberries, Rutgers “250” tomatoes, and the Rutgers-bred heirloom “Oritani” bell pepper that you’re unlikely to find anywhere else. Available while supplies last!
Attendees will also be able to consult with Rutgers Cooperative Extension volunteers and staff regarding garden plans, plant care, and pest problems.
Don’t forget your plant wagon! This event will be held, rain or shine.
